Renie Kelly – Born in Portland Oregon  Anthropology studies at University of Oregon and Massachusetts, University of Oregon Ski Team  Married to Jeff Hunt, Planning Director for Maui County, greatest companion in life, sports and travel  Active and favorite godmother and Aunt to several children  arrived in Maui 4 years ago from mountain resorts of Colorado to join the Honua Kai Resort & Spa Sales team  loves water and snow sports, sailing, Paddle boarding, skiing, hiking, biking, golf, yoga  Passion for all types of Travel  writing books and screenplays  Study of cultures, especially Hawaiian  In the coming years I would like to see a movie script come to the silver screen and be a best selling author
My Story –

I have been fortunate to have a profession that has allowed me to live and work in resort communities for over 20 years between Oregon, Colorado and now Hawaii. I have on my own or with a team been responsible for over a billion dollars in real estate sales. The reason for my success is working with people like you. I understand what it takes to close escrow, regardless of what the economy is doing. I have seen ups
and downs of the real estate market a couple of times. Life is about change and adjustments and it is my job to look at each client, each unique situation, with creative eyes and ears, working to get the desired result whether buying or selling and have fun doing it. |

Hugh O'Reilly – Born in Yakima, Washington immediately moved to Davis California then to Canada at the age of 15  BA in Business from Simon Fraser University Vancouver, Mayor of Whistler from 1996-2005  Significant other, Patti O'Reilly wife for 30 plus years and best friend  Two amazing self sufficient children living in Vancouver and Dubai  snow and surf -Whistler and Maui so different so much the same the move was easy and natural  Passions for skiing, golf, sunsets, and the sustainability movement  life is about experiences not things and living on Maui is living the ultimate experience  I love being a Dad and can't wait to be a Grandparent
My Story – From as far back as I can remember I always wanted to help others and as a real estate professional I'm here to assist you whether you are buying or selling. What I bring to the table is leadership, diplomacy, and the art of negotiation that I have honed after 17 years serving on Whistler Municipal council and 9 of those years as Mayor. The transition to real estate from local government has been very comfortable and now I have the opportunity to use these same skills to assist buyers and sellers through all the stages of real estate. I'm passionate about what I do and love living here on Maui discovering all it has to offer. Julie Nelson –Born in Covina, California, grew up in Glendora  Graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara with a BA degree in Communications  Married to Le Marsolek. Our child is a spoiled orange tabby cat named Kia  Travelled to Maui with parents and sisters each year since the late 70’s. Moved to the Big Island in 2002, then Maui in 2005  Loves living in resort towns and has lived in Mammoth Lakes, Santa Barbara, Waikoloa Hawaii and now Ka’anapali Hawaii  Dreams of learning several languages and travelling the world  Passions include golf, tennis, travel, cooking, lazy beach days
My Story –
Being a third generation Realtor, I grew up around the business working at my father's appraisal and real estate company during high school to most recently working for a resort real estate developer on project launch sales. A background in television production, marketing, journalism and real estate has given me several layers of experiences where I have learned to be organized and to listen. If your Realtor does not listen to you, your dreams of purchasing your first home or vacation home is rarely achieved. My business associates and friends describe me as reliable. If I say I am going to do something it will get done - even if the surf is up. I have a reputation for details and not much gets past me. Attention to details is important in this industry! I look forward to working with new clients to make their real estate dreams a reality. |

Whalers Realty Inc. – Company History
This year marks Whalers Realty Inc.’s 33rd year of continuous business on Maui. Since 1976, Whalers Realty has been one of Maui’s leading brokerage firms. In 1976, Robert J. “Bob” Cartwright earned his real estate salesperson license, joined Whalers Realty in 1982, and then acquired his Brokers license the following year. Bob quickly became the company’s top-producing agent, eventually becoming its Broker in Charge. Along with his wife, Tess, they purchased the company in December 1993 and under their direction, the company doubled in size. The company currently consists of a staff of thirty-two real estate sales and broker associates and six full-time salaried support staff. The support positions include an Administrative Manager, Listing Manager, Marketing Manager, Escrow Manager, Executive Assistant, and General Sales Manager.
Whalers Realty maintains three sales office locations on Maui. These offices are beneficial in promoting the sale of new developments for they are located in peak traffic areas such asWhalers Village, The Fairway Shops at Kaanapali, and Kaanapali Shores, all of which attract a high-caliber clientele. Tess Cartwright is Broker in Charge for the vacation rental arm of Whalers Realty Inc., Whalers Realty Management Company Inc. The Fairway Shops location includes Whalers Realty Inc. Sales Professionals and The Whalers Realty Management Company. Whalers Realty also maintains an informational sales center at Lanikeha, an upscale subdivision of custom home sites located in Kaanapali Golf Estates.
Our longstanding sales success on Maui can be attributed to our experience and knowledge of the Maui market combined with a commitment to business principles founded on personal integrity. In 2007, Whalers Realty closed 159 transactions for a total sales volume of over $203,000,000. In 2008, Whalers Realty closed 317 transactions for a total sales volume of over $235,000,000. |
